"M. Butterfly," written by David Henry Hwang, is one of his Broadway masterpieces. "M. Butterfly" is adapted from a true story. This play won a Tony Award for best drama. During the Cultural Revolution in China, the East envied the power of the West, while the West coveted the property of the East. An unthinkable cross-border love contains 20 years of buried brutal truths. The teachers and the students of the National Taiwan University of Arts all sincerely invite you to enjoy their presentation.
Focus: An Oriental woman endures humiliation in exchange for the love of a Western man. Guns and cannons offer no protection against the Love Trap. A most terrible confession. The butterfly will eventually be crushed.
