2010 the 10th Taipei International Choral Festival

The Taipei International Choral Festival (TICF) is the most prestigious and extensive choral carnival held biennially by Taipei Philharmonic Foundation in the end of July. Gathering several outstanding choirs invited from all around the world, as well as excellent local artists, TICF appeals to not only tens of thousands of local audiences, but also a great number of choral fans from south-east Asia to the United States.

This year, we are honor to introduce Rajaton,Finland ,Yoon Hak Won Chorale, Korea, The Bratislava Boys’ Choir, Slovakia, Gustaf Sjokvist Chamber Choir, Sweden, and the University of Louisville Cardinal Singers from USA,.

With their fantastic repertoires and excellent singing, we will experience the heavenly voices that are rarely heard in East Asia. Every evening during 25th July to 1st August 2010, you can participate in concerts featuring the performing groups mentioned above to enjoy the multicultural atmosphere that they bring to us.

Further more, in th Opening Concert on 25th July,the world renowned conductor, Fred Sjoberg, Taipei Philharmonic Chorus and Taipei Philharmonic Youth Orchestra will present one of fourteen masses written by Joseph Haydn, "Nelson Mass". In the Final Concert on 1st August, Festival Choir will present the greatest cantata work of Mendelssohn, “ Die erste Walpurgisnacht ”, conducted by the international well-known conductor Gabor Hollerung.
